Triund Trek

At the foothills of the Dhauladhar mountain ranges, Triund is a captivating trekking destination, the crown jewel of Dharamshala. The Triund trek is one of the most sought after in the world, with the lovely Kangra Valley on one side and the Dhauladhar range on the other. The path to the top takes you through a forest of deodar, rhododendron, and oak trees. Although the Triund trekking is not difficult, the last kilometer is filled with curves and slopes that can drain your strength at an alarming pace.

One must make his way to McLeodganj, 8 KMs from Dharamshala, which happens to be the starting point of the trek, in order to take on this 10 KM long adventure. From Delhi and Chandigarh, cabs and Volvo buses operate at regular intervals. You will be taken past some mesmerizing attractions such as the Bhagsu Waterfall, Laka Glacier and Gallu Devi Temple on the 2-day long trek.

The first part of the journey is approximately 7 KM from McLeodganj to Bhagsu Village and is the easier part of the 4-hour long trek. The last three kilometres, from Bhagsu Village to Triund, pose a dominant barrier. The last bit, known in particular as the 22 curves, is a laborious stumbling block.

A day trek is a major opportunity; there is, however, a word of warning to pay attention to. If you don't want to spend the night looking at a star-studded night, it could take up to 12 hours for the whole trek, back and forth. Personally, I would suggest spending the night watching the night sky. Like a beautiful piece of art, alive with its raw energy, you can't miss it out.

As the chilly cold wind will definitely send shivers down your spine as it gushes through your hair, pack a collection of warm clothing. If you find a slice of cake on the trek to Triund, the route continues to three more treks that you will continue to pursue. From here, one can go to Laka Glacier or choose to follow the trek to Chamba from Indrahar Pass. Both, trust me, are worthwhile.

1400 meters above Triund, the Indrahar Trek is ideal for experienced trekkers. The rigorous climb will take you to the famous Lahesh Caves as well. During April and May, when the snow will melt, the Laka Glacier trek is fun, but the route will be embellished with endless layers of snow beyond August.

Best Time:
The Triund Trek is one of the few treks that are possible throughout the year in the region. Although the ideal time to venture will usually be between March and June to get away from the sweltering sun, the trek is a treat, especially between September and mid-December, even during the chilly winter months. During the monsoon, the trek becomes a challenge, especially navigating through the lush green forests you'll come across. In addition, because of the relentless snowfall, the road up to the top is closed for several weeks during January and February.

Difficulty:
It shouldn't be very exhausting to make a reasonably simple trek. For the most part, an undulating trek is the final bit, which is a challenge to get through. Nevertheless, be very cautious during winters when ascending to the top, as the presence of snow will make the route well marked and unnerving.

HAMPTA PASS TREK

The abundance of adventure is the Hampta pass trek, and enthusiasm along with the scenic beauty of the destination gives great essence during the journey.

Everyone wants to live in the mountains, but when you climb it, there is contentment and development.

We don't feel like getting water because of moisture in the atmosphere, but it is very important to remain hydrated during the trek. We can see climate change every minute. If you have all your preparations in order, you can keep a stock of a few healthy food products suitable for trekking. Hampta Pass trek is suitable for all solo travelers. For the first half of the trek to Balu ka Ghera from Chika, you can pass through green pastures, and if you're lucky, you'll see mountain cattle roaming the fields in their own leisurely mood. A round of introduction of all and a pleasant lunch marked a perfect beginning of the ride.

It does not take more than half an hour to cross the forest, after which a grassland is seen enclosed in solid mountains, surrounded by pine trees. Immediately after crossing the diverse forest, the way presents a small grassland snuggled within the enormous mountains, blanketed with lush green grass and seasonal blossoms. And the state of Himachal Pradesh is quite a dreamland for every person who loves to keep returning to the lap of nature, answering the call time and again.

The Hampta pass trekking is not about the rush of adrenaline, nor is it about crossing daunting obstacles to reach a destination, as many Himalayan treks often do. We chose which tents to remain in and dumped the backpacks at about 5:30 pm. This blog series is dedicated to the Hampta Pass Trek, the best monsoon Himalayan trek, a crossover trek from Kullu to Lahaul and Spiti Valley at an elevation of 14,380 ft.

The tea served was super sweet, which showed me how sweet the people of Manali were. Perhaps it's because at every corner of its path, this trek has a climax. You can easily hear the sputtering Rani Nala streaming in the area near this spot. Jwara is between Chika and Balu Ka Gera and is mostly chosen as a campsite for travelers to rest or chill out for the night. From Bhuntar, the drive to Manali takes an hour and a half.

Stop monsoon trekking, as trekking on the muddy and slippery trail becomes dangerous.

Kedarkantha is a trek that is easy to slightly moderate and suitable for beginners. The track is straight up, with a steep climb. Over thick pines, lakes, and lovely campsites, the trek will pass.
While Har ki Doon trek is a moderate to challenging grade trek. Seasoned trekkers are favoured. You will be brought to green meadows, thick woods, lakes, and tiny villages by the trail.

5. Crowd:
Since Kedarkantha is an early trek, a lot of trekkers and travelers will be spotted.
You will spot less crowds in the winter months or in the monsoon season.
Har ki Dun trek is a seasonal and frustrating trek. The serenity and tranquility that the crowd lacks will leave you awestruck. It is also called the Valley of Gods, which offers a peaceful atmosphere.

6. Village tour:
Both treks start at the village of Sankri, near Dehradun. Just three beautiful and scenic Juda ka Talab, Kedarkantha basecamp, and Hargaon campsites pass through the Kedarkantha trek.
Har ki Doon passes through small hamlets and towns such as Osla, Taluka, Seema, etc. All these villages are untouched by civilization and each place is synonymous with great ancient tales. As the mythological facts suggest, this route (Har ki Doon) was taken by Pandavas to reach Swargrohini Peak and go to heaven. Osla has a Duryodhana temple, much like the quaint village. The fact that the temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva or Duryodhana is still a mystery.

7. Flora, fauna:
Both treks are situated under the Govind Wildlife Sanctuary belt. A pleasant opportunity to discover the fauna and flora. There is a great range of medicinal plants in the valley of Har ki Doon. Whereas, only pines and rhododendrons and lush meadows have Kedarkantha. Many Himalayan birds can be seen, such as Redstart, Rosefinch, Monal, and bearded vulture. It is easy to spot animals such as black bears, snow leopards, wild boars and musk deer.
